How to Launch a Clothing Line - Short

Students will be introduced to the business of fashion by understanding the legal composition of a corporation and how to prepare a business plan.

Students will be able to understand the structure of a fashion company and the job description of each position, as well as tasks and responsibilities.

Students will learn how to create a sellable collection, and most importantly, how to produce it—from sample to ordering fabrics and selection of styles.


Students will walk through the whole process of how to market and sell a line wholesale or retail, and how to enter major industry trade shows.


After completing the course, students will receive a resource guide for finding pattern makers, grading services, sample rooms and factories all over Miami area that work with start-up designers.


This course includes a tour of Miami’s production companies to see the process of laying fabrics, cutting, sewing, and distribution in person.
