MARCH-APRIL 2021 Fashion Design 1 is the first part of a series of two courses where students will be introduced to the world of fashion design by teaching them how to create a collection and how to follow fashion trends in order to create sellable styles. Students investigate the interdisciplinary nature of drawing and design by sketching their ideas and learning how to draw the styles they imagine in their minds. Students will have focus in understanding sizes ranges, price points and how to create a customer profile. Students will learn fashion terminology, design elements and principles.

  • Pencils
  • 11”x 14” marker paper pad– Bienfang 360
  • 11 x 14 ” tracing paper pad – Bienfang
  • 1 white eraser, 1 sharpener, a 12 inches ruler or transparent ruler from patternmaking
  • Marker Blenders
  • Pigment Liners
  • X-Acto knife
  • Self-healing cutting pad
  • 11 x 14 RINGED portfolio
  • A set of 24 or more color pencils- Prismacolor Soft Core
  • 11×14” Canson paper (neutral color)*Option construction paper
  • Permanent Double sided tape
  • Permanent bond glue runner
  • Paper scissors
  • Fabrics swatches – The ones you will use for your collections
  • Color cards from Wal-Mart or Home Depot(same colors as your fabrics)
  • Fashion magazines
  • Colored Markers
