PRODUCT DETAILS

In this first of 2 levels, students will be introduced to all pattern making tools, supplies, and terminology needed to understand how to draft patterns for children’s wear.

They will understand the children’s wear market, including sizes and categories. In addition, students will learn how to measure a children’s size dress form and visualize body outlines.

The course’s main objective is to draft all the foundation pieces (front and back bodices, front and back skirt, basic sleeve, shift dress, and pants) needed to develop any design.

After drafting the foundation pattern pieces, students will learn how to transfer all of them to oak tag paper. In the last week of this course, students will learn pattern making signs, how to trace foundation patterns, and how to add seam allowance.

After completing level 2, students will receive a certificate of completion and can participate in the fashion show.
