The Sewing Center at FIF

The Fashion Institute of Florida is proud to announce the launch of The Sewing Center at FIF, a new creative sewing space designed for aspiring designers, sewing enthusiasts, and former students ready to bring their ideas to life.
After observing that many students completing the Basic Sewing course wanted continued access to professional equipment, guidance, and a creative workspace to develop their own designs, FIF created a flexible sewing environment where creativity and technical skills can continue to grow beyond the classroom.
It’s Time to Sew and Create
The Sewing Center at FIF gives students and independent creators the opportunity to work on personal sewing projects, alterations, custom garments, and design ideas using professional equipment and instructor support at their own pace.
Participants can schedule sewing time based on their individual needs:
Students may bring their own commercial or PDF sewing patterns or select from a wide range of styles available in the FIF pattern library.
Professional Environment + Creative Freedom
The Sewing Center provides access to:
Hours of operation:
Fabric & Supplies
Participants are encouraged to bring their own fabrics, linings, trims, and sewing supplies. Materials may also be purchased directly at FIF if needed.

During this session, instructors can review the pattern, recommend the correct fabric types, sizing, lining, and materials needed before students begin their projects.

WHAT OUR STUDENTS ARE SAYING ABOUT US:

"For years I have been dreaming about becoming a fashion designer but always found it to be unattainable. This school has changed that. I leave every class so confident and excited about what I have learned and can’t wait to come back. The schedule, class size, cost, and talent of the professors are almost too good to be true. But trust me, they are."

Hello Fashionistas! I really like taking classes at The Fashion Institute of South Florida. After many years of looking around for a good, affordable and flexible fashion school in Miami, I’m lucky enough to have found this. I have been learning so much with the classes and the schedule is very convenient for me.  I’m almost ready to enter to fashion world and launch my own clothing label! All thanks to The Fashion Institute of South Florida!"

"I really enjoyed this course. It opened my thoughts and provided lots of new inspirational ideas. I always wanted to learn about fashion and what goes into garment production, so this course was exactly what I was looking for. The teachers are very friendly and they will help you with everything you need. Rucht was the best, she'll teach you everything she knows about fashion."
