Student Spotlight: Lissa St. Brave
Lissa is an oustanding aspiring designer. She is en route to graduation and has been doing amazing along her journey. Read more about Lissa and her experience at our school below:
How long have you been a design student and what got you interested in fashion as a career?
I have been a student for just over a year and a half. My mom was a seamstress, and she never got the chance to pursue a career in the fashion industry. I’ve always wanted to learn to sew, and I decided to continue learning, as a way to honor her and continue the legacy.

How are your classes helping you in the process of preparing personal projects?
I  personally love the small, intimate class sizes at our school. It gives me the freedom to get all my questions and concerns answered, in order to apply my skill set to my assignments and personal projects.

What are your plans after you finish your studies at the Fashion Institute of South Florida?
I plan to continue learning even after I graduate! I want to learn about men’s clothing and children’s clothing! I don’t want to limit my learning abilities. In addition, I plan on managing a luxury RTW clothing line that provides quality clothing for women who like to look nice, in a world of fast fashion!

What advice do you have for students already studying or wanting to study fashion design?
Practice, practice, practice! Practice daily to perfect your skills early on so that you can grow! Don’t be afraid to ask for help!
